Actions are used to indicate that an action has occurred to an item. An action consists of one or more phases. You
can apply action phases to an item. Additional phase specific attributes are added to the item when applied.
Examples of actions include selling an item, lending and returning an item, and donating an item.
The Actions screen shows the list of actions.
Each action row displays:
- Name - The name of the action.
- Note - The action note.
- Item count(s) - The gray number is the number of items the action has been applied to.
- Detail button - To the right of each action is a circled icon.
If you have setup more than one database, the name of the current database appears at the top under Actions.
A shared database will have a cloud icon ☁ before the name. If the shared database is read-only, it will
have the ⊘ icon before the name.
- View Items
Tapping an action name will bring up a list of associated items.
Tapping the Tools icon brings up the Tools window. This provides access to
and other contact and help information.
Tapping the Edit button switches between view and edit modes.
- View Action
Tapping the detail button to the right of an action brings up the
Action screen. This allows you to view the action definition.
- Edit Action
You can edit an action one of two ways. Either view the action and tap the Edit button on the
Action screen or tap the Edit button on the Actions screen and then tap
the action you wish to edit.
- Add Action
Enter edit mode by tapping the Edit button. The list of actions will change and a row labeled "Add Action"
will appear. Tap this row to bring up the New Action screen.
- Delete Action
Enter edit mode by tapping the Edit button. Tap the red circle delete icon next to the action you wish to
delete. You will need to tap the red Delete button to confirm the deletion. Any items that have the action
applied to them will have the associated action attributes and values removed.
- Reorder Actions
Actions can be automatically sorted or manually sorted. Go to the
Sorting Options section of the
Settings page. Set the "Auto Sort Actions" option as desired. If off then
manual sorting is done on the Actions screen. Enter edit mode by tapping the Edit button. A reorder handle
will appear to the right of each action. Press and drag this handle to move the action into the desired
At the bottom of the Actions screen are three buttons allowing you to switch between the
Categories, Locations, and Actions screens.
The following settings affect the Actions screen:
- Actions Colors - If on then each action is displayed in the same colors as its items.
- Auto Sort Actions - If on then actions are automatically displayed in alphabetical order. If off you can
sort the actions in any order you want while in edit mode.
